Pain Management Pre-Op Instructions

• PLEASE CALL YOUR PHYSICIAN FOR COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS. Follow all the instructions given to you by your physician for this procedure.
• Please arrive at our Center 1 hour prior to your procedure in order to complete the registration process and in order for our staff to appropriately prepare you for your procedure.
• You must have someone to drive you home following these procedures, unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
• Not all patients will receive sedation for these procedures; it depends upon the type of procedure & your physician's preferences. If you have sedation, YOU MUST have someone to drive you home afterwards.
• If you are taking a blood thinner, such as Coumadin, Plavix or aspirin, please consult your physician on the number of days to discontinue these medications prior to your procedure.
• If you have any X-ray films, MRI's or CT's, please remember to bring these films with you on the day of your procedure, unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
• If you are having sedation for this procedure, you must have an empty stomach. Do not eat for 6 hours and 4 hours prior to your precedure
• If you take blood pressure medications, please take your medication as normal with a sip of water on the day of your procedure, unless otherwise instructed differently by your physician.
• It is recommended that you wear loose fitting clothing for these procedures.
